When we talk about "Making Waves" here on the Fun Coast, we often mean athletes who excel on the field. But today, we’re celebrating a New Smyrna Beach graduate who is excelling in the studio, the classroom, and now, the collegiate arena!
Meet Jordyn Williams, a recent New Smyrna Beach High School alumna whose journey proves that talent, dedication, and an academic drive are the ultimate winning combination.
🩰 Dancing With the 'Cudas
Throughout her time at NSBHS, Jordyn was a dynamic and spirited presence. Her passion for performance and precision was most evident with the storied Showdolls dance team, where she was a key member for three years (Freshman, Sophomore, and Senior).
Jordyn’s dedication to her craft was immense:
Elite Competition: She represented the 'Cudas at the highest level, competing with the Showdolls Elite team at challenging UDA competitions in Orlando.
A Champion’s Resume: Beyond high school, Jordyn dominated the local studio circuit, notably with Dance Mania All-Stars out of Melbourne, FL. Her hard work paid off big time—she was a vital part of two national championship teams!
While her focus was primarily on dance, Jordyn was a true athlete, even spending a year with the NSBHS cheer squad (Junior year) and dedicating a season to the 'Cudas track team (Junior year).

Prioritizing Success: From NSBHS to Honors College
What truly sets Jordyn apart is her commitment to excellence off the dance floor. She embraced the rigor of her studies at NSBHS, earning induction into the National Honor Society, and carried that momentum straight into her college career.

Jordyn is now a thriving freshman at Georgia Southern University, where she is pursuing her academic and athletic dreams simultaneously:
Academic Achievement: She earned a prestigious spot in the Honors College, showcasing her dedication to maintaining a stellar GPA and engaging in challenging coursework.
The Major Move: Jordyn is majoring in Journalism, already preparing for a career that utilizes her communication skills and deep understanding of the sports world.
🎤 On the Track to the Talk Track
As a member of the Georgia Southern University dance team, Jordyn continues to perform at the highest collegiate level. But her ultimate goal is to transition from performing for the cameras to speaking into the mic.
She is preparing herself to become a sports reporter, with a clear goal of becoming a sideline reporter. By combining her on-field experience, dance background, and training in journalism, Jordyn is building the perfect skill set to succeed in the competitive world of sports media.
Jordyn Williams is a powerful reminder that our local students are not just talented; they are brilliant, driven, and ready to take on the world. The Fun Coast is cheering you on, Jordyn!
