Faith and Fists: Meet Glenn Hagler, Daytona Beach's Boxing Coach and Apostle

Daytona Beach is home to a unique community leader who blends the discipline of the boxing ring with the devotion of the pulpit. Meet Glenn Hagler, a man weaving together his passions for faith and fitness to make a distinct impact on the local community.

Hagler's journey brought him to Florida from New Jersey, where he previously led a congregation as a pastor. Trading the northern climate for the Sunshine State, he didn't leave his calling behind, but rather integrated it into a new venture: Hagler Boxing Club.

This Daytona Beach gym isn't just for seasoned fighters. While Coach Hagler dedicates himself to training young, aspiring boxers aiming for greatness, his reach extends further. Local athletes seeking top-tier conditioning and even officers from the Daytona Beach Police Department utilize the facility and Hagler's expertise to stay sharp and fit. His coaching emphasizes discipline, technique, and the resilience needed both in sport and in life.

Beyond the rhythmic thud of gloves on bags, Hagler continues his spiritual mission. As an Apostle, he remains deeply connected to his faith roots. When not coaching, he can be found spreading the gospel, either through his own weekly radio show or by sharing his message as a speaker in various local churches.

The Hagler legacy in boxing extends to the next generation as well. His son, Glenn Hagler Jr., is forging his own path as a professional boxer, currently honing his skills under the tutelage of legendary fighter Roy Jones Jr.

Glenn Hagler represents a powerful combination of physical training and spiritual guidance. Whether mentoring a young athlete, conditioning a police officer, or sharing words of faith, he is a dedicated presence shaping lives in Daytona Beach, proving that strength can be found in both the body and the spirit.
