No. 14 Eagles Dominate Barry 96-52
If you want to see exactly how basketball should be played, look no further than the No. 14 Embry-Riddle Women's Basketball team. There is an old adage that to see the sport at its purest, you watch the women’s game, and the Eagles proved that sentiment true on Saturday afternoon.
In a dominating 96-52 victory over Barry, ERAU put on a clinic in fundamental execution and unselfish play. The box score tells the story of a team operating in perfect sync: the Eagles racked up 24 assists and dominated the interior with 60 points in the paint. This wasn't just a win; it was a must-see display of high-IQ basketball that improved their record to 6-1 (2-1 SSC).
Game Highlights
Historical Offense: The Eagles' 96 points marked the sixth-highest total in program history. They jumped out to a 20-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Paint Dominance: ERAU controlled the physical game, owning a 44-21 rebounding advantage and shooting a blistering 75% in the second quarter.
Star Power: Two Eagles posted massive double-doubles. Eliana Sheplee led with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Laurie Satchell was unstoppable with 22 points and 13 boards. Alyssa Brasko added perimeter firepower with 16 points.
With a deep roster that saw freshmen closing out the game strong, Embry-Riddle is proving to be one of the most exciting teams to watch in the nation.
