Several local teams are starting the season with high expectations and prominent rankings. According to MaxPreps.com, the Mainland Buccaneers lead the charge, ranked #6 in Class 5A. Their season kicks off with a massive test against Cocoa, a team ranked #1 in Class 2A and #12 in the state. This is a game that will set the tone for the entire season. The rivalries will be as intense as ever, culminating in a highly anticipated Halloween showdown between Mainland and Seabreeze to close out the regular season.

Our local college team, the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, is also getting ready to hit the field.
